Just checking in....

Ashtyn had a "so-so" Thanksgiving. She is currently cutting three eye teeth, therefore lost her appetite. She really didn't get into the holiday other than running around in grandma's yard for a while with Nana and cousins on the unseasonably warm Thanksgiving afternoon. This proved to be a bad idea.

Next day came the cough. Along with the teething fever, she was just not herself last week. And the cough kept getting worse.

Despite my best intentions, I took her Sunday afternoon to do a little shopping and to PetCo. There was a very sweet young man that helped Ashtyn get a closer look at the ferrets. (Hope to post the picture from my phone soon...) He brought one out of the cage and put the tiny fur ball right up to Ashtyn's nose. She was shocked. She just looked at it with a completely blank expression, then him, then me and my mom, and back and forth. It was too precious! She didn't know what to do!

But this excursion proved to worsen her cough. She spent the night coughing so I took her to the doctor Monday morning. Talk about a crowded office. We waited, her sitting on my lap, me sitting on the cold floor, for ninety minutes before getting into a room. She was so restless, compounded with not sleeping well. Made for quite a frustrating wait for the both of us. Anyhow, bronchitis was the prognosis. Ashtyn's taking antibiotics and cough syrup to help speed up the recovery and get rest. She's doing a little better but still hasn't found her appetite. I'm sure it will take a while for those teeth to push on through and then we'll be back to sampling everything!

Bruce has missed witnessing the scary coughing. He's scheduled to be in Louisiana the rest of this week and next. Then Tupelo for a week, and home for two weeks! YAY! Then probably back to Louisiana. BOO!

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Ashtyn's lost her appetite? This is serious? I hope she feels better soon and those teeth push through. We can't have her wasting away.
