ICE STORM 2009

Ok... it was only fitting that I follow up the last posting of the sleet storm with the ice storm from last week. We were without power from early Tuesday evening to Friday mid-morning. We have a gas fireplace and a gas water heater so that wasn't bad. We camped out on the couch to stay warm at night. And a gas grill outside to cook some burgers one night. Not too bad compared to many others I might say. It was definitely trying on the nerves though. Bruce was having a terribly hectic week in Louisiana. Mom and Dad were without power so they stayed here with me and Ashtyn. The worst part of the whole ordeal was Ashtyn pointing to the TV asking for "Shrek". Poor thing. She just didn't understand why I wouldn't turn on her movie for her. One day she decided she needed to wear her gloves, then later decided they were socks. Here are a few pics to document last week. They were all taken in the dark, so thank goodness for a great flash on my camera!
