On the way home today, Ashtyn asked for chicken and waffles for supper. I silently wondered if we have we lived in Memphis too long. I agreed to fix her meal, but told her that mommy and daddy were going to have something else. Nothing was going to deter her from this request, or so I thought.
I decided on some Schwan's salmon burgers in the freezer. Bruce told Ashtyn that we'd be having "crabby patties" like SpongeBob cooks and she could have chicken and waffles. Guess who changed her mind real fast?! It was the first time I've fixed a sandwich on bread and had her eat it! Amazing!!! I should have fixed "crabbie patties" sooner!!
While I was cooking the burgers, I was also making a few peanut clusters. She kept coming up and wanting to know more and more. I explained that I'll melt some chocolate, mix in a few peanuts and raisins, and then we'll eat them after they cool. After supper, she takes her first bite of a cluster, looks down at the cluster and then remarks back to me in her usual dramatic tone "Oh, mommy, thank you with making these!"
She's such a cutie!!
