We're Tennesseans! Is that how you spell it?

Can't believe how long it has been since I updated the blog, but a lot shorter than some other people I know... hint...hint! HA!

We are here in TN under one roof again! Woo hooo! Wait - did I just order a drink?! Anyhow, it seems like everything is falling apart around us but we are STILL happy because we are together. If it's not one thing, it's another with the house. Nothing major (like the lock on the back door jammed one night and had to be replaced), but just little annoying things over and over.

It's been fun watching Bruce get used to having a security alarm. Poor monitoring company. I get to talk to them a lot more than should be expected. That was a good laugh at 6 this morning!

Bruce has had several stressful days over the last few weeks. First, the Bartlett South manager quit so he's running both the North (Shelby, Tipton, and Fayette counties) and the South (northwest MS) sides. The very next day his district manager quit. So he reports directly to the regional manager now. And this guy supposedly makes Donald Trump look like Mother Teresa. Today, he is in town. So preparing for today has been a major source of concern. Bruce just came home for a quick supper and everything seems to be going a LOT better than expected. I'm so glad! That was many answered prayers for me.

As far as my job, I'll just say they are the most frustrating people I have ever met. Do this, don't do this; then I get in trouble for not doing it. Get to work, but you can't call anyone because someone else might have called them. Let's look at this weekly report AGAIN... for thirty more minutes... as if it's going to change from this morning, from yesterday afternoon, from yesterday morning, from day before yesterday. You get the idea. On the plus side, 7.5 hour work day with an hour lunch. Doctor visits don't count as time out of the office. And we are out the door at 4:58pm so far every day! This seems to be common practice with this office as far as I can tell.

Ashtyn seems to love her new daycare. She's been setting on the potty some, enjoying the new playground and twisty slide, making new friends, singing and dancing. She didn't want to come home Tuesday afternoon. She kept asking "Stay? Ok? Stay?" I am so excited. She had a rough morning today, but so far nothing unusual. Ashtyn already knows the routine. When I picked her up today, she took me to the "sign out" table that we did not have at the other daycare. She loves meeting people so this has been a huge plus.

Ashtyn loves the new tub. She's asking nearly every time we go into the bathroom "I want tub, ok?" Cute!! Her new favorite cartoon is SpabBob. No typo. This is how Ashtyn says it. And Barts (Pop-Tarts) are a big demand now. She loves to make messes just so she can say "I made mess." She loves that new Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercial. And Phineas & Ferb. She yells "MOM" with Candice during the opening credits everytime. It's so cute!

We're having big problems getting her to bed though. She picked out a few new items for her new room like rugs and a body pillow for her bed that I thought would help, but I think the room is still so unfamiliar and scares her a little. It hasn't helped either that we've had severe storms a couple of nights to wake her. I know if we just stick to a routine, we'll get her back to going to bed without a peep!

I can't wait to get done with unpacking. The house is a total wreck. I do not exaggerate either. Other than Ashtyn's room, everything is a mess. There just ins't enough time in the day, and after a long day of "Do/Don't Do" I just don't have the willpower to get working on the house. Ok... back to it I go!

'Til next time!

Great blog posts! We've been missing you guys too. It's great to read up on all you are doing. I'm glad that you and Bruce get to be "normal" and see each other every day. I know you are greatful for that. I do hope your job gets better soon or that you can find another office!
