Some mornings Ashtyn likes a whole apple for breakfast. Sometimes she wants it peeled and diced into cubes, sometimes sliced into apple fries. And if I do the wrong option, she's NO fun to be around. This morning upon her request, I took her a whole freshly washed apple.
"Here's your apple. Do you want Mommy to cut it up or do you want apple fries? Or do you want to eat it like this?" I wait with a trepid smile for her instructions, hoping I have not set off a tantrum by bringing the whole apple.
Looking it over carefully and then staring blankly at me, I could tell she was unsure of my question.
I slowly asked again "Do you want Mommy to cut it up or do you want it like this?"
She again stares blankly for a few seconds. But then a light went off. She smiles, hands me the apple, replies "I want you to open it!" and runs off.
Aha! "Open it" should have been an option. I guess it's me that makes things difficult for her!
