Every day brings a new laugh around our house. Ashtyn's speech is improving, and she definitely has her daddy's personality and sense of humor!!
Saturday afternoon, we went to a Schwan's BBQ and business meeting at the district manager's house here in Memphis. A couple other managers, wives, and girls (6mo and 22mo) were there. Gail asked Ashtyn if she could take her picture, to which Ashtyn immediately posed and 'cheesed'. Wish I had it that easy! Gail stepped over to take a picture of Sophie, and then asked Ashtyn to come over so she could get a picture of the two of them together. Her response this time? With hand on hip and plenty of sass "You've got a picture of me already!" Laughter ruptures through the room. I was afraid Gail and Brandy were going to pass out. I'm glad the ladies enjoyed her sass because I wasn't quite sure what to think.
Sunday, Bruce is driving us all home from our weekly grocery trip when Ashtyn sees something in the backseat floor she wants. She asks me to get it for her, and I try but it's just too far away to reach. She politely asks a couple more times and each time I show her that I just can't quite reach it. Her solution... "Mommy, I'm talking to Daddy now. Daddy, can you get it for me?"
Sunday night, during Ashtyn's bath, the silliness strikes again. I asked her to reach up and turn the water off. The faucet in the guest bath is one of those hot is all the way up and cold is all the way down type. She pulls it down somewhat, jumps back and giggles because the water got cold. Then reaches up and turns it all the way off. She sits down for a second thinking... and then with a loud grandioso voice "Ladies and gentlemen, I give you (paused and stretched her arms open wide) COLD!"
Huh? Like I said, where does she come up with this stuff?!?!
