Halloween and "ladders"

We've been busy. That's it. I can't believe I went so long without posting. Now that I'm sitting here, I can't remember all the stories I wanted to share.

I'll start with my cousin Stacey and maybe the rest will come to me. She's out of the hospital and home with her family. She still has a long road to recovery, and still no luck in reversing her Susac's Syndrome. But she's home! And to think... after only 58 days in the hospital(s)!! Her Mayo doctor is still stumped with exactly how to treat her but they're going to keep trying IVIG, plasma, and chemo at times. We're all praying for the best, and praying that her loss of eyesight is temporary. Love ya, Sis!

Mom had surgery last week to have her gallbladder taken out. Darn genetics!! She has been and still is in a lot of pain. This past weekend, we were there to see them for Halloween. We tried a few times to explain everything to Ashtyn before we went so she'd remember not to climb up on Grammi like she normally would when visiting. She seemed very interested in the boo-boos and repetitively asked to see them. We asked her once to tell us what happened to Grammi, and she did really good explaining. Sort of. "Grammi hurt her tummy and she went to see the doctor. The doctor, he's a surgeon too and he took her ladder out." Or another time she explained in true Halloween fashion that "Grammi was flying her broom and hit the tree and fell off and got boo-boos". Bah ha ha ha ha!!!! The surgery didn't go exactly as expected (a little extra complication came up) so it will take her longer to heal. Thankfully, all is going to be fine with time.

Of course, we had lots of fun "treating" with our two adorable nephews! I just love my two s-i-l's and their kids!! And we got to spend time with Bruce's mom and two grandmas as well. Have I mentioned how much I truly love them?! I really lucked out! Ashtyn tried to make as many friends as possible, holding any one's hand that would have her. Have to watch out for this one!!! She keeps us on our toes!! Here are a few pictures from the weekend...

Last night, we hosted a Schwan's manager meal at our house. And get this.... the guys cooked AND cleaned up! Totally awesome! So when can we do this again?! ANY TIME YOU GUYS! Seriously! Maybe y'all can arrange to bring all the wives with you next time. Ashtyn had a lot of fun playing with all the managers, but especially the district manager's two girls (7mo and 22?mo). They are adorable!

Ps... did I mention Bruce thinks he's Mr. Clean now?! Geez!!
