Today has been awful. To say I'm sick of office drama is an understatement. And this is the big one, Elizabeth!!! But then I come home and have true comic relief. Ashtyn is just like her daddy. Doesn't miss a beat and you never know what is going to come out of her mouth.
It starts with a trip to Fred's (just around the corner) to get Skittles. I thought that would be a nice start to our evening. This trip leads to patio chairs! Yay for a great price on some plastic adirondack chairs!! As I'm lugging four up to the cashier, Ashtyn is making friends with anyone who will listen.
"I got chairs! And I got Skittles! And I got chairs! See?!" This continues in the parking lot. "Bye friends! Be careful! Have fun! Bye friends!"
So we get home and get everything settled. She's in her own little chair in the living room, watching Finding Nemo (we're back on that one again) and eating some Skittles. I use that time to do some dusting. She finds me in one of the rooms, hanging up a coat in the closet.
"Mom, I want pumpkin. See? It's up there!"
Her Halloween pumpkin is on top of a box on the top shelf and certainly out of reach. I try for a couple of minutes but just can't reach it.
I bend down to tell her "Ashtyn, I'm sorry. I just can't reach it."
"You can't reach it? Where's Toodles? Ooooh Toodles!" as she walks out of the room.
I love my little girl! She's amazing!!!
